Dobbs Luau House located on Peachtree Road in Atlanta Georgia opened in the late 1950s, and gave diners an opportunity to “dine amid palms and pools and things Polynesian.” The restaurant had a dramatic entrance, and the interior featured elaborate tiki decor, including at least one Barney West carved tiki, a brook that ran throughout the establishment and a cabinet filled with bamboo cases that held regular customers’ chopsticks - inspired by the original Don the Beachcomber. The concept was so successful it became the blueprint for Dobb’s House Luaus throughout the South. The name changed to the Dobbs House Tiki in the 60s and in the 70s the building was torn down.
